I have spent my entire adult life addicted to drugs of some sort. Mostly opiates &benzos as well as other pharmaceutical drugs if I couldn't find my preferences. And if all else would fail I wasn't above doing non pharmaceutical drugs either. Anything to try to help me to feel the least bit normal. Of course I was enjoying the high in the beginning but I hadn't felt that in so long I had almost forgotten that feeling. I started using in 2000 & finally decided to give this treatment center a try in 2014. By far the best decision I have ever made in my entire life. Not only for myself but for my family as well. And most importantly of all for my daughter. She was 2 when I started. It was getting harder & harder to for me to take care of her & give her the love & attention that she needed & deserved. I am now 3 years & 15 days clean & have never felt better. Luckily she doesn't remember that side of mommy & even if it takes me remaining in treatment (and on medically assisted treatment at that) for the rest of my life then im honestly ok with that. Though that's of course not my goal, it is a far better option than the life I was living before starting to take methadone, attending groups and working almost daily with a counselor. Of course having a great support system at home has been a tremendous help as well. And last but not least as much credit as I have given & continue to give the Galax treatment center I couldn't have done any of this without my higher power, my lord & savior Jesus Christ. I honestly hope me saying that didn't change your opinion of my review. I don't go to church very much at all but pray for help & give him thanks daily. And last but most definitely not least always remember & know that no-one can get your recovery for you. They can help you but you gotta want it bad enough & do it yourself

CLEAN AND WELL RUN WITH A CARING STAFF. EXCEPTIONAL COUNSELORS THAT ALWAYS HAVE TIME FOR YOU WHEN YOU NEED THEM. WELL TRAINED AND FRIENDLY NURSING STAFF. A GREAT PLACE TO GO IF YOU WANT TO CHANGE YOUR LIFE AND MAKE IT BETTER.
